ITINERARY FOR LPNI US STUDY TOUR
Wednesday, September 15
Arrive in Washington, D.C., and transfer to your accommodations.  This evening you will enjoy a Welcome Dinner and introduction to the tour program. Accommodations: Embassy Suites in Crystal City, Virginia.
Thursday, September 16
After breakfast, you will enjoy a motor tour of Washington, D.C., taking in the sights, including several monuments.   We will tour the Bible Museum, and you will enjoy lunch on your own at the museum.  After lunch, we will go to the National Cathedral, the second-largest church building in the United States. It took 83 years to complete!  We will return to our hotel and end the evening with a lovely meal.
Friday, September 17
After checking out of our hotel, we will venture toward Washington by way of the Arlington National Cemetery for the changing of the Guard. In Washington, D.C., we will see the National Mall, and stop at the White House for picture taking. Once we have seen the sights, we will travel to Williamsburg, Virginia, stopping along the way to have lunch in Occoquan, Virginia, a quaint little town set on the banks of the Occoquan River that flows into the mighty Potomac River. We will continue our travel to Williamsburg and check into our hotel. We will end the day with dinner together. Accommodations:  Hilton Garden Inn and Center Street Grill.
Saturday, September 18
After breakfast, we will travel a short distance to Colonial Williamsburg and spend the morning visiting the Capitol of the Virginia Colony in 1699. Williamsburg was established in 1638, and it forms the “Historic Triangle” along with Jamestown and Yorktown.  Colonial Williamsburg is the historic district and a living museum where actors in period costume depict daily colonial daily life in the streets, stores, and workshops.  After lunch in a Colonial pub, we will go to Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in North America.  We will tour the museum and the settlement and observe the early colonists go about their daily routine.  There are some nice little shops in the colonial villages.   We will end the day with dinner at Route 60 BBQ Market.
Sunday, September 19
We will depart the hotel to attend worship services at King of Glory Lutheran Church and School.  Lunch will be provided by the LWML.  During the visit, we will have Parish Nurse Presentations about the variety of care that is done by the Parish Nurses around the world. We will leave the church and go to Yorktown, which was a major Virginia port in colonial times and also during the American Revolutionary War.  We will have dinner at a restaurant on the York River.
Monday, September 20
After checking out of our hotel, we will go to a local mission outreach program and possibly assist with blood pressures and give short health care presentations.   We will travel back to Crystal City but will stop for a tour of Berkley Plantation, which is the most historic plantation on the James River, and it is the site of the first official Thanksgiving.   We will have lunch at one of the famous Cracker Barrell Restaurants, which were first opened in 1969 as a Southern comfort food restaurant.  After continuing our travel back to our first hotel, Embassy Suites, we can rest or have a shopping spree.  We will have our farewell dinner at a restaurant atop the DoubleTree Inn.
Tuesday, September 21
We will have breakfast as a group and then check out of the hotel.  We pray everyone will have a safe trip HOME!
